Trying to take myself more seriously I decided to take an online course (since I live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere) to help refresh my skills and flex my artistic muscles. I started with Drawing Facial Features with Gary Faigin from craftsy.com It's been good to help me think of the face/head as 3D and how to create that on a flat 2D surface. I did myself in charcoal from a mirror and then I decided to keep going and did my son and husband too.
